My Story

Doug Waddell is a Sorry, I just about wrote this bio in third person, as if someone else wrote this about me. Right. A bit pretentious, don’t you think? It’s not like I have a publicist writing my webpage. Okay, let me start again . . .

I’m a Canadian writer of fictional stories who resides in Calgary, Alberta during the tolerably warm months. When the weather turns intolerable, my wife and I make like the birds and travel to our winter home in Casa Grande, AZ. Over the years I have gained an affinity—and love for—Arizona. Unsurprisingly, my first novel’s main setting is in southern Arizona. The mountains bordering Tucson are the backdrop to the story. Being an hour’s drive from Banff, Alberta, Calgarians feel at home when mountains are within sight.

The real me? . . . or possibly just
pure twaddle?

the ‘real’ me

If you believe this photo is the real Doug Waddell, then please contact me right away (preferably on the dark web); I have an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime deal for beach-front property in the Sonoran Desert. It’s unbelievable. Honest 😉

Alright, if you really, really want to know more about the real, awkward, perhaps even unseemly, side of me, then you can click on over to my a-bit-too-personal page.

“doug is a gifted writer who, despite a minimalist style,
achieves great depth of emotion.”

. . . said no one, ever. But maybe . . . someday 😉
